Linoleum Floor For Chicken Coop. I've heard from several people who've used our chicken coop plans that they've added linoleum, marmoleum, or vinyl to the floors and love it. Wire and batten is a common flooring solution in raised chicken coops. I have most types of flooring around here, i have tried most of them over the years. Our 2 ducks are currently using this space until their separate run is.

When we originally built the coop i gave it a good two or three coatings of shellac, hoping that would protect the wood floor and act as somewhat of a barrier against moisture and rot. Yeah, that was an inaccurate thought. Well, i thought i could bypass chicken bedding because i'd just be able to spray the floor out. Chicken runs often end up just a forgotten bit of enclosed space.
